At Southlake Style’s inaugural Women’s Luncheon on October 14 at ThebrMarq, keynote speaker Kim Garrett spoke from the heart—and touched thebrhearts—of more than 250 women in attendance.
Garrett, a Fort Worthbrnative, mom, author and former Facebook executive, took attendees on a poignantbrjourney through her childhood and into her adult years. Garrett also sharedbrstories from her book, “Roll With It.” Her honesty and realness resonated withbrthe audience, with many attendees commenting on Garrett's impactful message ofbrperseverance.
Garrett concluded her talkbrwith an emotional reading of lyrics from Sara Bareilles' “Brave,” a song thatbrhas special significance to her.
Guests enjoyed a cateredbrlunch from Trio New American Cuisine, along with swag bags featuring a braceletbrfrom Collections by Joya, gift certificates from local restaurants and spas,brand other exciting items.
Lisa Rose, founder of ThebrGatehouse, a Grapevine nonprofit that provides a supportive living communitybrfor women and children in crisis, also took a few moments to speak about thebrorganization and share ways the community can get involved. Ten percent ofbrproceeds benefitted The Gatehouse.
