The 6thbrAnnual North Texas Giving Day was a huge success in September, exceeding it'sbrown record set in 2013 by $1 million. In 18 hours more than $26.3 million wasbrraised through community-wide events and nonprofit performances. More thanbr1,580 nonprofits benefitted from more than 98,000 donations. Locally, GRACE hadbr87 donations totaling $21,553, and Metroport Meals on Wheels had 72 donationsbrtotaling $11,340.
From 6bra.m. to midnight Sept. 18, donations poured in from all 50 states, sixbrterritories and more than 28 countries. Costume-clad nonprofit representativesbrwere spotted across the community drumming up grassroots support for theirbrcauses. Donors of all ages participated in the festivities, including kids whobrgave their time and loose change at the inaugural Kids Give.
