North Texas Giving Day Returns for Eighth Year

We'rebrjust kicking off summer, but there's a big event coming this fall: thebreighth-annual North Texas Giving Day. Scheduled for September 22, the event is anbropportunity to celebrate your favorite nonprofits by giving back. In the pastbrseven years, the single-day event has pumped more than $119 million into localbrnonprofits. The event has also broken four national giving-day records sincebr2009.

Thisbryear, community events featuring nonprofit performances, food and hands-onbrkid-friendly activities are being planned throughout the region, all while donationsbrof $25 to $50,000 can be made 6 a.m. to midnight to more than 2,000 certifiedbrnonprofits listed on NorthTexasGivingDay.org. Donations will be amplified bybrmore than $2 million in general bonus funds and prizes.

Here's abrlook at some Metroplex festivities scheduled for this year's North Texas GivingbrDay:

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Dallas County DonationbrStation at NorthPark Center will feature free nonprofit performances and the third-annualbrKids Give where kids canbrdonate their loose change and participate in hands-on philanthropic andbrkid-friendly activities. The event will also include cash prize drawings forbrparticipating nonprofits in attendance.

5 to 7 p.m. – Collin County Donation Stationbrwill include a proclamation by

McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller, food trucks,brgames, music, over 50 nonprofit booths and fresh air in historic downtownbrMcKinney.

5:30 tobr9 p.m. – The Arlington Gives! Concert will be a free community event at LevittbrPavilion with musical performances and entertainment from Arlington nonprofits.brIt will include two drawings for a total of $10,000 in giveaways tobrArlington-based charities, food trucks, and other activities.

5 to 7:30 p.m. – Denton County DonationbrStation at the Denton Square on the Courthouse Green. Attendees can enjoy livebrmusic, entertainment from the Denton County nonprofit community, comments frombrcity officials, and special activities for children.
