Rachel'sbrRally and Relay for Life Southlake is set to return to the track behind CarrollbrHigh School on Friday, May 3. Rachel’sbrRally is Carroll ISD's year-end event celebrating kindness and compassion combinedbrwith Relay for Life Southlake – the city’s largest overnight cancer fundraiser.brThis year’s committee is expecting thousands of people to attend the 4thbrannual fundraiser benefitting the American Cancer Society.
Firstbrorganized by CISD students who were members of the Friends of Rachel Club threebryears ago, Relay for Life Southlake honors those who battle cancer eachbrday. Over the span of 12 hours, teambrmembers take turns walking the track while those not walking enjoybraround-the-clock activities in a festive atmosphere that includes team fundraisingbrand live entertainment.
Facebrpainting, pie throwing, a photo booth and an all-new dodgeball tournament are abrfew fundraising activities available for participants. An assortment of entertainers will performbrfor the crowd including this year's headliner, Griffin House. Also returning this year is the popular Mr.brRelay Pageant, silent auction and canned food drive.
In a specialbrLuminaria Celebration, luminaries will be lit in honor of and in memory ofbrthose touched by cancer and will conclude with a slideshow presentationbrfeaturing cancer survivors and those lost to cancer. Luminaries are still available for purchase the night of the event or by visiting Relay for Life Southlake.
