Disney's charming tale ofbradventure, friendship and transformation takes on a glorious new twist atbrDawson Middle School from May 13 through May 15.
Dawson Performing ArtsbrCompany (DPAC) has created a must-see experience with this culturally rich version of Aladdin. Complete with the intriguing characters we’ve come to lovebrand the enhanced score of the Broadway musical, the goal of DPAC’s productionbris to introduce audiences to an alluring geographic experience, a vibrant musicalbrscore and diverse talent.
Billed as the biggestbrproduction ever performed on the DMS stage, Aladdin is primed to live up to thebrhype. Student involvement is at an all-time high as Aladdin features 30brperformers, 15 technical crew members, as well as poster art and stage setsbrdesigned and crafted by Dawson Art students.
Director and theater artsbrinstructor, Michael McNay, set out to make this the most inclusionarybrproduction in the school's history.
“Not every student has anbrinterest in being a performer,” says McNay, “but the beauty of theatre is thatbrthere is a wide range of needs and interest areas that need students of allbrskill sets. Artists, engineers, historians and writers all have a place inbrthe world of theatre, and we want to be able to develop all of the studentsbrinto better versions of themselves.”
