Honoring 25 firefighters, the Southlake Fire Department recently held the largest badge-pinning ceremony in its history. The ceremony celebrated two new battalion chiefs, three lieutenants, four engineers and 16 new firefighters. “It’s a recognition of the fact that they completed a rigorous process,” chief Michael Starr says. “They went through the hiring process and completed the orientation. Now they’re issued their badge that they’ll keep for their career and will only be changing when they promote.”
