City officials proudly declared June 6 as Southlake Kiwanis Club Day in honor of its two decades of service.
Chartered in 2003 as the local chapter of Kiwanis International, Southlake Kiwanis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of local youth. With school supply drives, educational scholarships, fundraisers and recognitions like the Charlie Stalcup Award, Southlake Kiwanis continues to give back to the community one service project at a time.
"There are so many members of our community that have been such an integral part of this club," president Elizabeth Whatley said at the club's proclamation. "I love this town, and I love this sweet little Kiwanis Club and all of the people who have poured into it these past 20 years.
