While the E-Trade picklebabies owned the Super Bowl commercials, the Southlake Pickleball Complex was making final touches on its own court. Get ready to bring the heat on Wednesday, Feb. 21, because court reservations are officially open!
The $4.5-million pickleball complex broke ground last April at 450 W. Southlake Blvd. in Bicentennial Park. The facility features eight pickleball courts and one championship court, offering state-of-the-art amenities for amateurs and pros alike, including a pickleball equipment pro shop, concessions, and ample seating and umbrellas for watching the game.
Court reservations are available in two-hour increments for $30, with a limit of eight players per court. Open play is available at beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced levels for those who wish to learn more about the game or sharpen their skills.
In the spring, instructional programs will also be hosted for rookie and professional-level players or groups, including classes like “Intro to Pickleball” and “Advanced Tactics.” If Southlake pickleball members are interested in forming a league team, they can review the requirements and submit a team court request form.
