Apple iPhone enthusiasts in Southlake have been waiting in line since the wee hours of the morning to get their hands on the latest smartphone model —the iPhone 6. According to an Apple Store employee, there was even someone who camped out for the past three days just to be sure he got his hands on the coveted new installment of the Apple brand.
The line winded around two corners in Southlake Town Square with hundreds of individuals making new friends as they anxiously awaited their turn inside. Although the conversation may have been nervous chatter, “I hope I get one before they run out…” there was no doubt budding camaraderie.
The iPhone 6 was announced a little over a week ago, and the Apple website actually crashed (briefly) with the number of hits it received with pre-orders for the new version of the smartphone. However, the individuals in line this morning obviously didn’t want to wait to get their hands on the new hardware.
Apple’s answer to wearable tech, their Watch, was also announced at the September 9 press conference. However, you’ll have to wait until early next year to get your hands on that Apple accessory.
Even if you don’t own a MacBook Pro or iPad Air, you can still appreciate the concept of brand loyalty. And at the very least, it just affirms your decision to purchase Apple stock when it was just a twinkle in technology’s eye.
