Welcome to another look into the hearts and minds of Southlake residents. Nearly 1,200 voices took part in Southlake’s recent Citizen Satisfaction Survey this fall. The biannual report helps highlight insights into the city's quality of life and community satisfaction, while also providing valuable directions for future planning. Coming off the heels of the 2021 report where data had dipped to levels not seen since 1995, the latest data shows our community spirit rebounding after navigating through some challenging times.

a comparison of overall quality of life ratings in 2021 vs. 2023. It shows that these ratings have increased significantly among those rating the quality of life as excellent.
An overwhelming 89% of residents say their lives here as either excellent (52%) or very good (37%). This marks a 6% improvement from the 2021 survey, which stood at 83% when looking at the top-two box scores.

Data from the question, During the time you have lived in Southlake, do you believe that as a community in which to live, Southlake has improved, stayed the same, or gotten worse?(Q6)
When asked about the overall direction the city is moving in, 49% of participants felt that Southlake has improved during their time as residents. Meanwhile, 33% believe it has stayed the same and only 18% feel it has gotten worse. This marks an improvement from 2021’s survey, where as many as 30% of respondents stated that Southlake had “gotten worse” during their time as residents.
