Attention North Texans, the iconic Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are making its way down to Texas.
Penn Station East Coast Subs plans to bring more than a dozen of its fast casual restaurants to Dallas-Fort Worth, which is a result of an agreement signed with Coppell-based franchisee PS DFW.
One of the first three locations is slated for development in Southlake, at the corner of Southlake Blvd. and State Highway 114. The Southlake located is expected to open in August.
The Ohio-based eatery serves grilled East Coast-style sub sandwiches, fresh-cut fries and famous lemonade made in house daily.
This will be Penn Station East Coast Subs' first expansion to Texas. The company currently has 270 locations across 13 states.
The expansion to Dallas-Fort Worth is part of a bigger plan to open 30 restaurants this year in locations throughout the nation, including Chicago, Atlanta, Kansas City and Detroit.
Behind the Dallas franchise is David Sherzer and Dave Coussirat, who lead PS DFW.
Coussirat has worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 20 years, filling roles that include director of operations at Jamba Juice, Taco Bell and Freebirds World Burrito, according to Dallas Business Journals.
