Dallas Summer Musicals and Broadway Across America present the musical production of Waitress for a two-week engagement. From March 28 to April 8, locals can come out for a show full of quirky jokes, beautiful music and a whole lot of fun.
Waitress ings all that whimsical energy that comes with your favorite romantic comedy to the stage. With each distinct step or throw of the arms, this show leans into a more artistic representation of taking in new information and internal thought. But it's hilarious back-and-forth and nutty characters will keep you engaged throughout the entire performance.
While this musical presentation is definitely worth the drive out, you may want to leave the kids at home for this one. There are plenty of hilarious moments between the ensemble's couples, but not all of them may be suitable for all ages. But you and your special someone will be cracking up throughout each of these spicy scenes.
And it's thanks to the groundbreaking all-female creative team that transformed this movie into a stunning musical presentation. Grammy Award nominee Sarah Bareilles, critically acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson, choreographer Lorin Latarro and Tony Award-winning director Diane Paulus came together to create this uplifting tale about Jenna, a waitress and pie maker who has bigger dreams than to take orders all day long. After meeting a new doctor in town and inspiring her fellow waitresses to pursue happiness, she decides its time for her to make her own happiness.
Watch as Jenna takes control of her life and feel happy for the first time. It's hard for the audience not to feel that infectious joy that Jenna finds by the story's end.
The Dallas Summer Musicals season will continue with performances of Les Miserables; Disney’s The Lion King; The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies: The Phantom Returns and will conclude with School of Rock. So don’t miss your chance to be a part of the magic.
