Apex Arts League
A galaxy far, far away is coming closer to Southlake next weekend, along with the film composer’s music that helped define the dynamic world that George Lucas created. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is teaming up with the Apex Arts League to bring a special family concert to the Metroplex next weekend that features music from the highly popular science fiction series “Star Wars,” which was scored by Academy Award-winning film composer John Williams. Musical scores from some of Williams’ other films will be featured alongside “Star Wars,” including “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Harry Potter” and “Jurassic Park.”
Apex Arts League chairman Terri Messing says the “Star Wars” theme was selected in anticipation of the ninth and final film in the series “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker,” which is scheduled for release in December.
“He’s one of the greatest American composers that there ever was,” Terri remarks. “His music is super recognizable. I think it’s going to be a really cool, family-friendly concert. We’re very excited about this.”
The concert will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 6 at White’s Chapel UMC, located at 185 S. White Chapel Blvd. Ticket prices are $10 for children, $15 for seniors and Apex members and $20 for adults.
