If you're looking for a new haunt with restaurant meets tavern flair, Brick House Tavern + Tap in Grapevine is your go-to. Come for the menu of American classics with a twist— deviled eggs anyone?—and stay for the cozy, lounge-like atmosphere, complete with an indoor fi eplace and outdoor firepit. Sure, you can enjoy dining in a comfortable booth or at a table made for two, four or six, but why not nosh on a crowd favorite such as chicken and waffles while sitting in a comfortable recliner watching one of the restaurant’s 30 TVs?
With dark wood and brick features throughout, the décor creates an atmosphere at Brick House reminiscent of a tavern, but with modern features such as an exposed ceiling and catchy phrases on illuminated signs and walls throughout the restaurant. You'll want to “Keep Calm Drink Beer,” while you ponder such life-changing quotes as “Beer is proof that God loves you.” Thank you Benjamin Franklin for that tidbit.
With an environment that comes off as a meet and drink location only, it may be easy to overlook Brick House's menu of your soon-to-be favorites such as the Deviled Eggs (farm-fresh eggs, smoky bacon, hint of jalapeño, paprika and chives) or the Kobe Burger (hand-molded Wagyu beef patty, sautéed onions, roasted tomatoes, spring mix, brie and roasted red pepper aioli on a brioche bun). One of our lunchtime favorites was the Chicken and Waffles (two homemade Belgian waffles, crisp fried chicken tenders, syrup and a fresh strawberry). The chicken had just enough batter to make it crunchy, and the waffles ere fluff .
Although we stopped in for lunch and enjoyed an iced tea with our meal, the restaurant's bar is far too stocked to overlook. Brick House offers more than 80 beers, including local craft beers, a variety of imports and American classics. More than 22 of these are on tap, and for your local variety of brew—each location features a hand-pulled beer engine pumping local ale from a wooden cask. For something really unique, how about enjoying a brew on tap with your friends flowing from a handcrafted glass, 100 oz. beer bong?
If beer isn't your libation of choice, and you'd rather stick with a cocktail—or two, we won't judge—enjoy a Blackberry Collins or Blood Orange Whiskey Sour during Happiness Hour. And while you're there for Brick House's aptly named happy hour, head out onto the wooden patio to mix and mingle with friends and strangers alike. If you happen to drive by Brick House Tavern + Tap during the evening hours, you're sure to notice a patio packed with patrons enjoying their adult beverage of choice.
