One of Carroll’s seniors put the STEAM facility to good use earlier this month when he built a hexagonal game table.
Using all of the facility’s woodworking tools, including a router, circular saw and sander, Alfred Hale constructed a 34-inch game table that can seat 4-6 players. Not only did he use the facility’s woodworking tools, but he also used its 3D printer to produce some cupholders and sound speakers for the table.
Alfred submitted his table to an online Instructables Workshop contest, where he won a prize as one of its finalists.
“The faculty at Carroll Senior High School were amazingly supportive and encouraging to him,” Alfred’s mother Hilary says.
