One of Southlake's youngest piano prodigies is heading to New York this weekend to perform at Carnegie Hall.
A third-grader at Carroll Elementary School, Kaitlyn Han has been playing the piano since she was 5 years old, performing everywhere from Dallas to London. Since 2021, Kaitlyn has won first place in several music competitions, including the Dallas Symphonic Festival, the Cambridge Music Competition and the International Sonata Youth Competition.
Last summer, Kaitlyn won second place and the Promising Young Talent Award at the Culley International Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. After recently winning first place at the American Protege International Music Talent Competition, she was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall once again this weekend.
“Her love for music is infectious, and she is always eager to share her passion with others,” her mother Wanjie Liang says. “For Kaitlyn, music is not just a hobby or a career — it’s a way of life.”
Kaitlyn will perform at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, April 9. For tickets or more information, visit CarnegieHall.org.
