Taziki’s Mediterranean Café
Owner and Chef J.W. Mulkin
“It is rewarding to serve a flavorful and deliciously different menu while using simple, pure ingredients that promote overall health.”Taziki’s owner, J.W. Mulkin, grew up spending his weekends at his grandparent’s farm where he found his passion for cooking. His family would wake up at sunrise and prepare a full country breakfast together—always doubling up on the bacon. Today, Mulkin is the local owner of Taziki’s Mediterranean Café in Southlake, with a menu influenced from flavors and ingredients that can be found throughout the Mediterranean. Everything is made from scratch daily and they take pride in the fact that the restaurant does not have a fryer, freezer or microwave. Taziki’s serves the absolute freshest meals possible with a creative twist on Mediterranean classics and inspiration from Mom’s kitchen. Taziki’s recently became REAL certified (responsible epicurean and agriculture leadership) which is the emerging national standard for foodservice nutrition and sustainability.
i Fratelli Pizza
Owner / Operator Neil Turner
“I enjoy serving others and making people happy, and luckily Italian cuisine does just that!”After reconstructive knee surgery left Neil Turner on bed rest for a number of months during his first year of college, he passed the time watching the cooking channel. Taking notes and recreating dishes for friends, Neil realized he enjoyed making people happy through food. Although it wasn’t until five years after college that he got involved in the food industry full time, he is now the owner / operator of i Fratelli Pizza in Southlake. Recently added to their menu, which includes great Italian food with simple, yet bold flavors, is the Del Bianco pizza. Neil explained it is quickly becoming a crowd pleaser. Also a favorite, customers love the restaurant’s made from scratch, house dressing, which pairs nicely with their salad—simple and refreshing.
