Take a Peek Inside the Majestic Home of Jason Witten, one of the Cowboys' Premier Players
By Linden Wilson, Assistant Editor
As one of the top tight ends in the NFL, Jason Witten has garnered numerous football accolades, the latest of which came in February when he received the prestigious 2012 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in recognition of his talents and the countless hours he's dedicated to supporting multiple charities. Yet at the end of the day, Witten's simply a devoted community member, husband and father — and an active homebuyer.
Witten, a Tennessee native who's played for the Dallas Cowboys since he was drafted in 2003, recently put his spacious Southlake abode on the market with plans to relocate to a property that will accommodate his growing family. He's shared the sprawling 7,500 square-foot space with his wife Michelle, an ER nurse at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and their three children for several years, and it's easy to see why they fell in love with it. A heavily wooded area shades the house with lots of desirable privacy without making it lose curb appeal, and that's to say nothing of the stunning interior with special characteristics like exotic granite and hand-scraped wood floors.
Venturing further inside, the home features vaulted ceilings, spiral staircases, six lavish living areas with exquisite stone and wooden accents and six private bedroom suites, each with its own bath. The master suite overlooks a crystal clear pool — surrounded by palm trees and complete with a rock waterfall and intricately designed grotto — and the property also comes with an expansive lake that the Witten family shares with one next-door neighbor.
Of course, it wouldn't be a football star's home without a sizable game room, where No. 82 jerseys line the walls and Witten proudly displays various other priceless sports memorabilia. Add to the mix a stadium room and roomy movie theater, and it's obvious this home is truly fit for a king.
