Nine winners emerged from House of Shine’s inaugural Change Bowl this past spring — and four of them are Southlake Carroll Dragons.
Organized by the House of Shine's Leadership Institute, the Change Bowl had local students ages 8-18 pitch their community improvement projects to local leaders in a “Shark Tank”-style format. Over $8,000 were awarded to teams and individuals based on their pitches.
Dragon sisters Shaadana and Sanah Rajesh were one of them, and they were awarded $1,000 for their in-person and online curriculum on developing good habits and breaking bad ones. Meanwhile, Carroll Senior High School students Raghav Katta and Mubashir Jafry also received $1,000 to devise a 10-week plan to deliver 3D-printed toys and care packages to children in local hospitals.
