With restaurants closed, empty grocery shelves and many cities issuing water boil notices, many Texans are in dire need of a hot meal. Gateway Church is helping to fill some hungry bellies by opening a meal distribution site in Fort Worth.
Located at its North Fort Worth campus at 4209 Basswood Blvd., Gateway partnered with the disaster relief organization Mercy Chefs to provide thousands of meals to residents around the area.
According to a media release, the meal distribution site will be open from February 19-22, 12-2 p.m. for lunch and 4-6 p.m. for dinner. More than 5,000 meals are expected to be served during its first day, while 10,000 meals will be provided every day starting on February 20. Meal distribution will be socially distanced, and anyone who needs a meal is welcome to attend.
