GRACE, a nonprofit organization located in Grapevine, will soon kick off the Christmas Cottage, presented by Park Place Lexus Grapevine.
Open from Dec. 10 to Dec. 23, this drive provides new, unwrapped gifts to families facing financial hardship due to limited income or recent emergency, according to the GRACE website. Each year, over 2,700 families are served at the Christmas Cottage.
The Christmas Cottage allows families to receive a "hypothetical 'budget' that allows the parent to purchase donated toys, home goods and appliances in a private, store-like setting" which allows "families to budget their resources and select unique presents while preserving the family's dignity," according to the GRACE website.
People can get involved in the Christmas Cottage by making a monetary donation to GRACE, buying and donating gifts from their 2019 Toy Wish List, hosting a toy collection or volunteering at GRACE.
The GRACE Christmas Cottage Open House will take place at 1250 William D. Tate in Grapevine on Dec. 9 with a kids' time at 4 p.m. and the open house at 5:30 p.m. Attendees can RSVP for the open house by emailing events@gracegrapevine.org.
