Wash down your funnel cake bacon queso burger with fried beer at the State Fair of Texas, where trying the most creative, unique — and more often than not, delicious — fried food is all part of the experience. Since 1886, Texans have come together to celebrate our great state at the State Fair, which is known for three main things: Fletcher’s corny dogs, Big Tex and the Ferris wheel. Of course, fairgoers also love the many other attractions, activities and events, like shopping for local goods sold in the marketplace, seeing the unique creations showcased in the Creative Arts Building, meeting and petting animals in the barns, winning a stuffed animal at the Midway, watching the gravity-defying acrobats and exploring the car show among others. With the more than 100 free attractions, 70 Midway rides and more activities throughout, the whole family will have a great time at the State Fair!
This year, you can also experience some of the new activities — like the Livestock Birthing Barn, where you can see the incubation and birthing process of livestock; the Home on the Range exhibit, which is the redesigned Little Hands on the Farm activity and Children's Barnyard petting zoo, now located inside the Coliseum; Amazing
Archery, which will showcase one-of-a-kind shots from an experienced archer; and the All-Star Stunt Dog Show, which features talented dogs who jump rope, race barrels and juggle. When you're ready for a break, head over to the Chevrolet Main Stage, where you can jam out to a variety of bands perform live including Aaron Watson, Austin Mahone, Hunter Hayes, Casting Crowns and more. We've never been prouder to be Texan!
