Miss Southlake and Outstanding Teen were crowned during the Miss Southlake-Westlake 2024 Competition last weekend.
Annette Addo-Yobo received the title of Miss Southlake, earning a $1,200 scholarship and winning Overall Evening Gown and Overall Interview. Annette is currently pursuing a masters in business administration at Lamar University. For the talent portion, Annette delivered a slam poetry reading to her self-composed piece, “Autism Speaks.” As Miss Southlake, Annette will advocate for the S.P.A.R.K. Project, a community service initiative on autism education, safety and advocacy.
Sophia Haddad also received the title of Miss Southlake’s Outstanding Teen, earning an $800 scholarship, winning Overall Interview and Overall Talent for her rendition of Jack Fina’s “Bumble Boogie.” Sophia will advocate for the Connecting To Community initiative, which educates others on utilizing technology in positive, beneficial ways. Sophia will also promote local businesses as part of her “Southlake Saturdays” campaign.
In addition to Annette and Sophia, Austin Douglas and Sunya Ajani were also named Miss Westlake and Miss Westlake’s Teen, respectively. These ladies will vie for the title of Miss Texas and Outstanding Teen during the upcoming competition in June next year.
