Mike Farhat originally sat in Southlake Town Square for an interview that was published in the August 2008 issue of Southlake Style.
Husband, father, businessman, municipal judge and philanthropist, Mike Farhat passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 68. Through many diverse enterprises under his namesake business Farhat Industries and as founding president of United States Global Partners, Ltd., he was behind many successful endeavors.
Locally, his multiple gas stations and convenience stores affectionally called Magic Mike’s, helped fund the then-fledgling Carroll Education Foundation through a donation of three cents per gallon. Farhat, the owner of several other local retail and entertainment shops was generous with his time and treasure, most notably through a donation of 37 acres of land that is now part of Bob Jones Park. He was also a catalyst in the creation and funding of a public arts foundation known today as The Apex Art League.
Born in Lebanon in 1955, he was named an Honorary Texan by then-Governor George Bush. Mike was also named Southlake Citizen of The Year in 2016 by the chamber of commerce. He is survived by his wife Emily, son Tylor, daughter Ashley, step-children Austin, Meredith and Caden, and siblings Kay, Joe, Layla, David, Dunia and many beloved nieces and nephews.
