Fresh off of a summer spent interning for Medical City Alliance, Samad Rizvi looks forward to leading the Student Council as its incoming president.
Inspired as an underclassman by how past presidents led the organization, Samad is leaning on their legacy and his prior Student Council experience as he gets ready to continue the organization’s tradition of excellence.
“It was pretty invigorating,” Samad says about being elected. “I know there’s a lot of responsibility tied to it, and I do truly believe that I have the tools to serve as president.”
As the leader of the organization that serves as the voice of the student body, Samad’s responsibilities include speaking at events such as the Veteran’s Day assembly and managing the student council committees. At the end of the year, he will catalog the council’s activities into records for the benefit of future councils.
Outside of the district, Samad is a member of the city’s Library Task Force, which is responsible for researching and developing a new public library for the city. He also volunteers at the DFW Airport as part of its ambassador program.
On top of being a member of Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society, Samad is also a Green Jacket and stays involved with the Carroll Medical Academy. He plans to major in biomedical engineering or neuroscience after graduation.
