Leanne Berthiaume always wanted to call herself a published author — and now she can.
A 2001 Southlake Carroll graduate and former Emerald Belle officer, Leanne recently finished her debut novel “Defining Me,” a drama about a woman coming to a crossroads in her life. With the book being published through New Degree Press, Leanne says she pulled from her childhood experiences growing up in Southlake and Texas.
“I wrote it because it’s always been a dream of mine, but also because I wanted to tell a story about the struggles many women face but hardly talk about,” Leanne says.
While the book doesn’t release until May, the book can be pre-ordered now at Manuscripts.com. Those who purchase the book before Dec. 18 and use the promo code "Southlake Style" will have 10% of the proceeds donated towards the Emerald Belle Boosters.
