Leanne Berthiaume always wanted to call herself a published author — and now she can.
A 2001 Southlake Carroll graduate and former Emerald Belle officer, Leanne recently finished her debut novel “Defining Me,” a drama about a woman coming to a crossroads in her life. With the book being published through New Degree Press, Leanne says she pulled from her childhood experiences growing up in Southlake and Texas.
“I wrote it because it’s always been a dream of mine, but also because I wanted to tell a story about the struggles many women face but hardly talk about,” Leanne says.
Since its release in May 2023, the five-star novel "Defining Me" received an honorable mention at the 2023 Beach Book Festival and was included in Amazon's Top 100 books in three separate fiction categories.
