For the first time ever, Carroll ISD will be recognizing not one, not two, but three teachers of the month.
During its regular board meeting on Monday, Sept. 26, Carroll ISD launched its new Inspire Excellence Teachers Of The Month Awards to recognize teachers who go above and beyond to inspire the next generation of students in their classrooms. According to a media release, nominations for the monthly awards will come from students, staff and fellow teachers and will include all 11 campuses for consideration.
For the first month of the awards, Carroll ISD recognized Durham Intermediate math teacher Lance Mangham, robotics instructor Leah Schwedler and Old Union Elementary teacher Jenn Merritt. Each of the recipients received a gift bag and spa day package from Magnolia Medspa & Wellness.
“It’s just exciting to be part of a district that celebrates the amazing things that are going on within classrooms,” Durham Intermediate principal Whitney Wheeler says. “As a new principal to the campus, I’ve just been impressed by seeing not only what takes place inside the room, but outside the room.”
