Carroll Robotics has a history of outstanding performances, including one team winning the World Championship last year.
The students are at it again as one team is headed to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. next month. Team 7110Z, comprised of Michael Chuang, Aaryan Das, Tenzin Dhondup, Samuel He, Arvi Krishnan, Sai Mahapatra, Amanda Piyapanee and Ty Ponzo, will be competing there on January 25th and 26th. The event, appropriately named “Night at the Museum” is a signature VEX Robotics event that serves as a qualifier for the World Championship in April.
Team 7110Z has not slowed down since receiving their invitation to compete in D.C. At the Greenville VEX Robotics Tournament in early December, the team received the Design Award for outstanding engineering notebook and judge's interview. At the Region 10 ESC on December 8, the team was named Tournament Champion and Robot Skills Champion in addition to receiving the Excellence Award which is given to the overall best team at the competition.
The Carroll Robotics teams will compete next at Carroll Senior High on January 12th.
