Carroll Robotics teams have been dominant all year, but toward the end of April, three teams represented Southlake on the world stage. Teams 7110A, 7110Y and 7110Z traveled to Louisville Kentucky, where team 7110Z walked away with the trophy.
Over 600 teams attended the VEX Robotics World Championship, and this figure represents the top seven percent of teams in the world. To have one team competing at this tier is a huge accomplishment, and Carroll had three.
At the culmination of the event, Team 7110Z was named the World Champion in the Robot Virtual Worlds Online Challenge when Sriram Avirneni achieved the highest score in the world by programming a virtual robot to play the game. The team also won the Think Award in their division which is given to teams with impressive and effective autonomous programming.
Congratulations to all three teams for competed at such a high caliber!
