The Carroll Senior High Student Council is busy working to make one child’s wish come true this month.
This month, the Carroll Senior High Student Council is hosting a Make-A-Wish fundraiser to take one child to a Dallas Mavericks game. A 3v3 tournament was held on April 3 to raise funds for the child, and T-shirts are being sold online through April 21.
“It’s a really big deal,” organizer Amy Skrovan says. “The entire high school gets behind it, and everyone on campus buys T-shirts to support the Make-A-Wish child.”
The T-shirts are $16 each and will be delivered directly to your shipping address. Student-athletes who won the 3V3 tournament will face off against teachers during a school assembly on Friday, April 26, where the recipient will be unveiled and celebrated.
“What makes Make-A-Wish special is that it puts a face and a name to a child,” sponsor Lindsey Jacobson says. “That makes it so much more meaningful and personable for our kids. They can truly see the effect it has on that individual, knowing all of the work they put in was well worth it.”
So far, Carroll Senior High’s Student Council has raised $4,617 out of its $15,000 goal. T-shirts can be purchased online at SwishesForWishes24.ItemOrder.com, and additional contributions can be made at Make-A-Wish’s website.
