Four young Dragons will soon be able to call themselves Guinness World Record holders.
Published by the iWRITE organization and "The New York Times'" Brad Meltzer and Christopher Eliopoulos, "I Am Texas" is a 7-foot-tall, 11-foot-wide book featuring over 400 pages of stories, poetry and artwork made by kids all around Texas. Weighing 496 pounds, the book broke the Guinness World Record for Largest Published Book in the world: and four Carroll students helped contribute to the massive effort.
According to the website, George Dawson Middle School students Sophia Kidwell, Tanishka Sharma, Zihan Yi and Lara Alajajian each helped contribute art to the book, with three of them depicting the battle of San Jacinto specifically. A small quantity of hardback copies of the book will be available for purchase for $100.
