The Dragons made a strong showing at the Texas High School BBQ League regional qualifiers last weekend.
Last Saturday, 21 high school barbecue teams came to Carroll High School to compete for a spot at the state championship, which is being held in May at Round Rock. The Dragon barbecue team was among the competitors, and they went home with a slew of team awards.
According to the results, team Smoke & Co. was named second-place reserve champions, winning first place for their chicken, second place for their beans, seventh place for their ribs and brisket and ninth place for their dessert. Meanwhile, team DragonFire BBQ finished in 12th place, winning second place for their chicken, 12th place for their ribs, brisket and beans and 13th place for their dessert.
