If your student loves football and wants to learn from the best, look no further than the 2019 Riley Dodge Football Camps. This is the second year that Carroll head football coach Riley Dodge will host the camps, and this year they will be held on two brand new practice fields at Carroll Senior High School.
With the goal of acclimating younger students to Dragon Football, these camps are a must for any aspiring Dragon. Campers will learn new drills, meet the coaches and experience what it means to protect the tradition. And no one knows what that means better than Dodge. As the Dragon quarterback in 2006, he led the team to a state championship. In his first season as head coach last year, he took the Dragons to the quarterfinals and ended the season at an impressive 13-1. He has proved to be a great player and a great coach, making these camps an incredible learning experience for your student.
“It’s a great opportunity for us coaches to get to know all the kids and for them to get to know all of us,” Dodge says.
Session 1 is for first through sixth-grade students (entering the 2019 school year) and will be held June 3-5 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. The registration deadline is June 2.
“We’re going to have three days of fun,” Dodge says. “The first day of camp we’ll have the cheerleaders, the drill team and the band out there to give the kids a game-day experience — they’ll even get to run out of the tunnel just like the big guys.”
Session 2 is for seventh through ninth-grade students and will be held June 17-19 from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. The registration deadline is June 1.
“It will be very similar to the earlier camp but the kids will spend a little more time getting acclimated to what we do on offense and defense at Carroll,” Dodge says. “The goal is for campers to be prepared as they enter their middle school and freshman year teams.”
