On April 18, more than 60 students and faculty members atbrCarroll Middle School participated in the St. Jude Classic, a three-on-threebrcharity soccer tournament benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The event, organized by football coach and Outdoor Educationbrteacher, Zach Sellers, raised nearly $1,500 for St. Jude, one of the world'sbrpremiere pediatric treatment and research centers.
“The St. Jude Classic is an exciting event that lets ourbrstudents and athletes have some fun for a good cause,” says Sellers. “St. JudebrChildren's Research Hospital is a blessing to so many families, and it'sbrrewarding to be able to give something back.”
Each team, comprised of four players each, contributed a $60brentry fee to participate. Three Carroll Middle School faculty members,brincluding Sellers, also participated. Students had fun with the event,brdeveloping creative team names and custom t-shirts.
