Since the beginning of the calendar year, Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs) have contributed over $547,000 in monetary and in-kind donations across all 11 CISD campuses.
While reviewing the consent agenda during school board meetings, organizations are recognized for their generous contributions to CISD. Most of those acknowledged are PTOs that have extended thousands of dollars to support school initiatives, resources, curriculum and more. On Sept. 18 alone, Durham Intermediate, Johnson, Rockenbaugh and Walnut Grove Elementary PTOs donated up to $71,220 for staff furniture and decorations, curriculum supplies and technology.
“Just about every [board] meeting, we talk about the amazing PTOs we have across our campuses here at Carroll ISD,” trustee Andrew Yeager says at the Sept. 18 board meeting. “We wouldn’t be able to do what we do with our budget without these great donations from PTOs.”
Throughout the 2023 alone, every CISD campus' PTO has made donations covering needs from athletics and bus transportation to classroom renovation and instruction materials. Thanks to their endless support, Southlake Carroll can adequately provide education and care to every student while bettering its school district.
"We have an incredibly generous community," Yeager says at the Aug. 21 board meeting. "Thank you to every single parent, grandparents even, anybody who's involved with our wonderful PTO across our 11 campuses."
