Support the Carroll Education Foundation over your first cup of coffee in the morning by stopping by Southlake's Another Broken Egg Cafe this month on their Green Fridays.
Starting on September 7, the local breakfast spot will be donating 10 percent of their Friday sales to CEF throughout the month. They will be sporting green T-shirts each Friday that show they stand with CEF and are helping fund local teachers. They will also taking donations through their “helping hands” project where guests can make a monetary donation any day and have their name written on a "helping hand" card that will be displayed at their host stand.
“My hope is to get the community one excited for the new Dragon school year and secondly to choose Fridays to wear there CISD/Dragon Pride green shirts to help spread the word about CEF,” Angel Guzman, general manager of Another Broken Egg Café Southlake, says via email. “ABE and myself are super excited to give back to the community in such a huge way not only for the teachers but for the all the students they educate each year. We hope this turns out to be a successful project and hopefully get other businesses on board with us for next year.”
The Southlake location hopes to raise $20,000 for CEF by the end of the school year. So drop by on a Friday to grab some of their seasonal pumpkin pancakes, or make a monetary donation as you go about your day. It all helps our local school district serve their students day after day.
