The top five Lady Dragons placed in the top ten of the meet, qualifying as a team and individuals for regional competition.

1st Place Varsity Girls and Boys Advance to Regional Meet in Lubbock

Itbrwas a great day to race and great day to be a Dragon runner. All Dragon teamsbrplaced 1^st in the district 4-5A meet, and it is the third consecutivebryear for the top honors. The top three varsity teams advance to the RegionalbrMeet in Lubbock along with the top 10 runners individually. 

“Webrare very proud of the performance and effort that our Dragons displayed by winningbrall four divisions at the district meet,” said Southlake Carroll Head CoachbrJustin Leonard. “We need to put this win in our rearview mirror and startbrfocusing on the regional meet. We like to say it's time to start hauling whenbrthe leaves start falling.”

ThebrLady Dragons' top five scoring runners placed in the top 10, qualifying as abrteam and individually. Crossing the finish line together in 2^nd, 3^rdand 4^th were Katie Burnham, Sam Young and Tig Archer (18:55); 5^thplace was Moriah Dadson, and Kayli Jones grabbed 7^th place tobrcomplete the scoring and top 10 runners. Freshman Ari Lopez finished with anbrimpressive 12^th place (20:02), and senior Haley McFadden finished atbr25^th place. The Lady Dragons’ team scored 21; Keller Timber Creekbrplaced 2^nd (56); and Justin Northwest advances with a third-placebrfinish and team score of 82.

ThebrDragon varsity boys' first-place finish was led by seniors Jacob Pickle andbrConnor Hendrickson. Pickle left the pack with 400 meters to go and had a PR andbrcourse record of 15:17; Hendrickson came in at a close 3^rd (15:28);bralways a strong finisher was Eli Canal in 6^th (15:35); Luke Lanham placedbr13^th (16:29), Ansel Richards 15^th (16:41), Brent Aydon 16^th(16:42) and Johnny Kemps 17^th (16:45). The Dragons advance tobrregionals with their first-place finish and team score of 38; Keller Timber Creekbrplaced 2^nd (45), and Keller finished 3^rd with 55 teambrpoints.

JV Dragons Show Depth

ThebrDragon JV girls showed their depth by receiving 15 of the 20 medals and sevenbrin the top 10. Placing 2^nd in the JV competition was Sophie Watson,brStacy Young 3^rd, Gillian Mortimer 4^th, Sarah Odneal 6^th,brRianna Randolph 7^th, Kate Brekken 8^th and Amy Riera 10^th,brCallie Colvin 11^th, Shelby Hobohn 13^th and Camill Olsonbr15^th.

Thebrsea of green continued as the JV boys team scored 18 points with 11 taking homebrdistrict meet medals and claiming the top three places. Timou Toure with a first-placebrfinish, Eric Vetere 2^nd, Alex Riera 3^rd, Kyle Polansky 5^th,brMichael Waugh 7^th and Tanner Dotson 8^th, Reed Brown 14^th,brEric Karl 16^th, David Archer 17^th and Chase Grossman 18^thto complete the top 10 JV runners.

The SouthlakebrCarroll Cross Country Varsity team will compete at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbockbron Nov. 2^nd in the highly competitive regional meet. The top threebrteams and top 10 individuals continue their quest in the state meet at OldbrSettlers Park in Round Rock on Nov. 9^th.  More results can be found at TX Running and Southlake Running.
