Robert Williams and team give Southlake Carroll its weekly boost...
Playoffs. They've become a yearly rite for Dragons players, who fight every week for a shot at another 6A state title. It's when the stakes are highest, and when every little bit of effort and energy helps. For the boys on the gridiron, that fight is backed by a Nation.
Robert Williams is President of the Carroll Athletic Boosters, comprising a vital support system at every game when the team needs them most. We caught up with Robert to get his take on the traditions that keep the program strong.
Beyond their assistance with travel, the “Big Team - Little Me” tees, and the expertly crafted playoff banners, we asked how he shows his Texas pride on game day. “Cowboy boots. During a state title run a few years ago, I showed up without mine and a coach called me out from the sidelines. It's a mistake I never made again – you never want to be the one who jinxes the team.”
And how do they celebrate a playoff victory? “Easy. We start preparing for the next one.”
Ozarka brand water can be seen throughout Dragon Stadium for each home game this season, supporting the Southlake Carroll Dragons and the traditions of Friday Night Lights.
