After hosting the 15th annual Southlake Invitational last weekend, Carroll Cross Country went on the road on September 14 to compete at two different competitions. The varsity teams traveled to Kingsville while the JV teams participated in the Coppell Invitational.
Both the girls and boys varsity teams took first place at the Javelina XC Meet in Kingsville. Ava Bushaw led the girls by placing second overall and was followed by Nikoletta Shockley, Maggie Costello, Caris White and Audrey Dunn, who all finished in the top 10. Grant Anderson led the boys by placing third overall and was followed by Mason Alexander, Logan Schaunaman, Bryan Fernando and Issac Chavez, who also finished in the top 10. Both JV teams placed second overall in their races with Riley Calvin leading the girls and Bode Keiser leading the boys.
“We are so proud of the way our kids competed this weekend at the Javelina XC invite and Coppell XC invite. We continued to show our depth as a program at both meets,” Carroll Cross Country head coach Justin Leonard says via press release. “The kids are working hard and we are gearing up for the district meet. We will continue to work hard and be at our best during championship season. Thank you to everyone for all of the continued support.”
Now, Carroll turns its attention to the Woodbridge XC Classic in California this coming weekend.
