
CXC Boys
The Dragons ventured to the University of Arkansas this weekend to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival Cross Country Meet, a dual college and high school competition that was hosted by the school. All of the present Carroll teams competed in the “El Caliente” race, which featured the fasted high school runners at the meet. Not only did the individuals perform well during that race but also the teams walked away successful.
The Varsity Elite Boys placed first and seventh on the 5K course and the Varisty Elite Girls placed first and eighth. Nate Lannen, who placed fifth overall, led the first place boys team while Jenna Holland, who placed first overall, led the elite girls' team that placed first.
While the elite teams were in Arkansas, the Carroll varsity and JV teams competed at the Decatur Reunion Run. The Varsity Boys finished second and the Varisty GIrls finished third while the JV boys and girls teams placed first in their division.
The two meets concluded the Dragons’ regular season. The teams will now focus on post-season competition, starting with the District 5-6A Championship at Bob Jones Park on Thursday, October 17.
