Get ready for schoolbrspirit to soar even higher at Dawson Middle School: A cheerleading squad isbrback on campus to add a little pep to everyone's step. Cheerleaders will attendbreach home football game as well as various volleyball and basketball games,brleading fans in cheers and chants for the green and white.
Lindsey James, 7thbrgrade language arts teacher and cheer coach at DMS, is excited to havebrcheerleading return to the school after five years without a squad. The girlsbrare ready to showcase their talents, too. The squad recently competed at thebrUCA Cheer Camp at Great Wolf Lodge, earning superior ribbons during allbrevaluations, two superior trophies and a spirit stick.
“The girls understandbrthat being a cheerleader is not all about wearing the big bows and cutebruniforms. It's about representing your school in a positive manner andbrincreasing school spirit,” says James. “I am hopeful that the addition ofbrcheerleading to DMS will be the finishing touch to sporting events and ourbroverall school spirit.”
