It's official! Texas Longhorns head football coach Steve Sarkisian has named former Southlake Carroll star Quinn Ewers as the starting quarterback for the 2022 season.
This news comes as no surprise to many who have followed Quinn since his Dragon days. Even an Austin-based Aston Martin dealership seemed quick to anoint Ewers back in June with a burnt orange-clad set of wheels.
This also comes with the recent news that Arch Manning, the top overall prospect in the class of 2023, will be making his way to Austin as well.
This gives Ewers at least a year's head start on what could be a very interesting quarterback situation for years to come. Las Vegas seems to like the news as well. Many sports books, including "Vegas Insider," have Ewers amongst names like C.J. Stroud (Ohio St.) and Bryce Young (Alabama) as top-tier Heisman contenders for 2022.
