Coming off of winning the state championship, the Dragon Baseball team has kept winning with several players earning postseason awards.
Senior pitcher Griffin Herring, who's committed to Louisiana State University, was named the 4-6A Pitcher of the Year, while senior pitcher Owen Proksch, committed to Duke University, earned the title of 4-6A District MVP.
Meanwhile, infielder Ethan Mendoza, outfielders Tyson Drake and Max Reyes and catcher Clark Springs were named to the 4-6A First Team while infielders Spencer Simpson, Nick Jones and Cole Bedwell were named to the 4-6A Second Team alongside pitcher Nate Rusher.
Defeating San Antonio Reagan 8-5 to win the state championship, the Dragon Baseball team ended the season with a 32-8 record and ranked No. 5 in the nation, according to MaxPreps.com.
