Southlake Carroll's Zachary Lowery
Earlier this month, waterbrpolo players from around the country convened in Riverside, California, for the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships. ThebrODP is a forum to identify and develop athletes to represent USA Water Polo inbrdomestic and international competition.
Throughout thebrtournament, USA Water Polo head coaches observe and evaluate every athlete on theirbrwater polo skills. As a result of these evaluations, athletes are selected tobrattend the National Selection Training Camp (NSTC) held March 31 to April 4. ZacharybrLowery, a Southlake Carroll and Thunder Water polo player, was a member of thebrSouthwest Zone Youth Development Team and placed ninth at the tournament. Hebrwas selected to represent the Southwest Zone Youth team to attend the NSTC inbrjust a few weeks.
On the girls side, thebrUSA Water Polo ODP National Championship will take place March 13 and 14 inbrRiverside, California. Lady Dragons make up one-third of the team, which isbrmore than any other Texas high school. Representing the Lady Dragons include: GabibrGervasi, Katie Nedrow, Sophia Torres, Ana Warner and Erin Weisert. Katie Nedrowbrhas just signed her letter of intent to play for Bucknell in the fall.
