Great Courses Close to Home
From the hallowed grounds of Colonial Country Club to thebrnew and notable Old American, and from time-honored legends such as ByronbrNelson and Ben Hogan to the fresher faces of Hunter Mahan, Ryan Palmer and JustinbrLeonard — North Texas claims a longstanding yet contemporary connection to thebrgame of golf. Blame it on the year-round playing season, a bustling economy orbrthe lack of state income taxes; we are not shy of great local courses to playbron or area golfers to cheer for. We’ve taken a look into some of the area’sbrbest courses. The good news is we didn’t have to travel very far to find somebrof the best golf clubs and clubhouses worthy of an afternoon in the sun.
Along our journey, we found the literal summit of local golfbractually resides in Keller (Sky Creek Ranch), while we are right between two ofbrthe PGA Tour's toughest courses (Colonial C.C. and the TPC Four Seasons LasbrColinas). From exclusivity (Vaquero) to value (Trophy Club C.C.), a shiningbrstar (Cowboys Golf Club) and everything in between, others should be envious ofbrthe greens we call home.
