On June 19, 2024, Southlake's own Kennedy Fuller, made history by scoring her first professional goal for Angel City FC in a 3-2 win over Racing Louisville FC in front of a home crowd at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
The 17-year old midfielder found the back of the net in the 17th minute of the first half, off of a perfectly placed assist from fellow rookie Maddison Curry giving Angel City FC an early lead. The score was also Curry's first professional assist.
The goal showcased the potential Southlake fans noticed during Fuller's freshman season when she was both “The Dallas Morning News’” and Gatorade’s Texas Player of the Year, after scoring three of the Lady Dragon's four goals in the state championship win.
As a sophomore all Fuller did was lead the Lady Dragons with 55 goals and 26 assists over a 29-1 season on her way to being named Gatorade’s National Girls Soccer Player of the Year in 2023.
Fuller graduated from Carroll ISD a year early and chose to go pro joining Angel City FC over a scholarship offer to play for the storied program at The University of North Carolina.
