The Southlake Carroll Cheerleaders are officially national champions.
Last year, the Carroll cheerleaders competed at the National Cheer Association High School Nationals for the first time in eight years. A year ago, Carroll reached a final score of 96.4667, finishing third out of 21 of the most talented teams in the country. This year, they doubled down on their effort, finishing first out of the 20 top-ranking teams in the Game Day Large Varsity division.
“We put in so much work,” head coach Cassie Hopkins says on Instagram. “Even if we hadn’t won, I would still be so proud to be [these girls’] coach. [They] never cease to amaze me day in and day out, and this journey is proof of that.”
