The North Texas Nadadores (NTN) held their annual recognition banquet on Sunday, April 6, 2014. This year's key note speaker was former Olympian Josh Davis. Davis competed in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics where he earned the US team three Gold and two Silver medals. Davis was also elected as the Captain of the US Swim Team in 2000.
Davis' testimony focused on the importance of a “team first” attitude. He shared with the NTN swimmers and their families how his greatest swimming accomplishment was as counselor, mentor and friend to all of his teammates.
Davis also hosted one of his high energy, motivating swim clinics earlier in the day at the Carroll Aquatic Center. The clinic focused on technique instruction on all four strokes, starts, turns and streamline.
NTN Head Coach Bill Christensen also addressed banquet guests and lauded the team's achievements over the past year. NTN was once again awarded silver medal status by USA Swimming. USA Swimming also ranks the NTN Swimming Program as one of the best teams in the country.
The evening culminated with a tribute to the 13 graduating seniors. Many of the seniors will be continuing their swimming careers at universities across the country.
