Carroll Middle Schoolbrstudents Calder Bray and Quinn Ewers recently showcased their talent on thebrgridiron. The Dragons were selected to try out for the Under ArmourbrAll-America football team last month at Cedar Hill High School in Dallas. Bothbrboys made the team.
The Under ArmourbrAll-America Camp Series' middle school platform is open to all athletes inbrsixth, seventh and eighth grade. Middle school camps are designed to teach fundamentals,brindividual skills and group work. The curriculum focuses on preparing athletesbrfor the events and settings they will compete in during their middle schoolbryears and when they ultimately reach high school.
Camps are held nationwidebrto gather the country's top talent. NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer DeionbrSanders taught at Bray and Ewers' camp, which had 180 athletes. The Dragonsbrwere two of five boys from their camp asked to advance to the all-star gamebrthat will be aired in January 2018 on ESPN.
