Lorena Leigh Album Release Party Presented by Cowgirl-Mermaid Records
From Keller, Texas with eight years of Queens Rockaway beach under her belt, Lorena Leigh is the feminine fusion of homegrown story-telling dance-able rhythms and summertime obsession.
After two EPs and numerous singles, her sound has been described as "cowgirl-mermaid" music. It’s her childhood love of country music, years of professional dance performance & enthrallment with the NYC surf-scene that directly contribute to the catchy hooks, lyrical stories, and electrified pedal-popped ukulele melodies that drive her music, leaving audiences buzzing with positivity.
Currently in the midst of a U.S. tour to celebrate the release of her debut album, "Water Theory," the show will usher in its release when the clock strikes midnight. Produced by Ernesto Valenzuela (David Bowie, Espé, B-52s) and featuring drums by Sterling Campbell (B-52s, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran), the album is enjoying worldwide acclaim with support from KXT radio in Dallas on the single “Girls Like Me."
“A blast of empowering, feel-good pop.” Wonderland Magazine
“Next level socially consciousness alt-pop storytelling.” 1111 Cr3W
With many lifelong ties to the local arts community, it’s going to be a special evening of song, stories and dance. Lorena grew up dancing (and also taught) at Dana's Studio of Dance in Southlake, was involved in theater, performing and teaching at Ohlook Performing Arts in Grapevine, and was in choir at Keller High School in KISD. Hannah Owens, who will open the festivities, was her choir mate.
